I thought we could do with a thread for containers of all kinds ....

This old and dependable colleague, a 4oz pewter job, needed a scrub out. So, I thought I'd post a pic. It looks in hale health here, but is in fact very battered, flattened and dinged. It's at least 20 years old, and I'd been looking for another. But, maybe not. There's no rule saying you can only have one hip flask, I hope :)

That’s a beautiful old thing. I had a nice regimental hip flask that was given to me as thanks for some work I’d done, but sadly that disappeared in the conflagration that was the end of my marriage many years back and I’ve not really bothered with hip flasks since.
Larger drinks flasks I seem to have in profusion, although all of them are clinically modern jobs.

I need to clear out my collection of water bottles, I have far too many.

I have been thinking of getting a nice glass one, with the goblet as protection. silver and leather fittings would be nice, too...

I have a small collection of 'brand' hip flasks. All very neat, small and meant to fit in a sporran. They fit in a handbag just as tidily :)

Water bottles breed; and the blasted things go mouldy/foosty. I find the ones with the bite seal to be truly awful, I threw out three cistema ones last week.

Water bottles do breed naturally but darling daughter is turning it into a proper breeding program, including cross-breeding ((exchanging lids between containers).

There are some lovely little pocket flasks for sale on eBay just now. Some really nice ones in the vintage kinds. Glass with silver bottom cups, but their leatherwork needs renewing.
I suppose a lot of folks are trying to make a few quid with stuff they're not using.
