We haven't a thread here on this topic, and having just come in from the garden, which is full of wild edibles, I thought I'd kick start one.

Just now,
Lesser celandine
Hairy bittercress
Wood Millet
Pignuts
Ramsons
Assorted wild onions
Wild strawberries
Dandelions
Nettles
Hawthorn leaves
Beech leaves (for gin/ noyeau)
Usual selection of herbs, like mints, thyme, sage, etc., but also heartsease, tansy, wild marjoram and the like too.
Fat hen
Pendulous rush

What do you have near by ?

It really is quiet in here, isn't it ?

It's late October now, but there's still good eating outdoors :)
This week's list

Brambles
Autumn fruiting rasps
Strawberries
Rosehips
Rowans
Pears
Apples
Acorns
Chestnuts
Hazelnuts
Fat hen
Hairy bittercress
Pignuts (dug up by mistake, but crunchy and tasty :) )
Reedmace
Dandelions
Docken seeds (parch, rustle off the skins on the seeds, grind and use as flour)
Plantain seeds (bit far gone, but they still thickened up in hot water)
Chicory (blown down and broken off by winds last month, it's set up new budding chicons)
Usual selection of herbs too :)
