Fixing Bugs

As with all new forums, there are likely to be bugs, things that dont work and stuff that generally pisses you off because its "different".

The first 2, I can probably deal with in a reasonably efficient manner if you would kindly note them below with a half decent description.
As for the third, I'm afraid that's really tough shit and you will have to deal with that yourself.

Re. the 'Site not secure' message mentioned on bcuk... it might be that you need to add an automatic redirect for http to https for the whole domain.

Not sure how to do that on your server and there are several methods but I guess it won't be hard to find once you know what to search for.

The site does have a valid SSL certificate. I will look into the redirect.

I’ve got a bug, same as RickDastardly in another thread, can’t start a conversation. I was attempting to PM him re sorting the site software.

No, only receive. I have 4 conversations since the beginning, all incoming not outgoing.

I get the Oops, we ran into some problems, you do not have permission ……etc

Mobile site issue?

2 from MaC, 1 from you, one from Temp. I suspect you’re all using desktops and not mobile, but I know RickD can’t send PMs and I guess he’s desktop because he’s a computer nerd.

No. If I tap the Inbox envelope it shows old conversations and also a ‘Start New Conversation’, but that leads to the Oops, something went wrong, you do not…..page.

If I click on your avatar there’s no option to PM there either.

I’m assuming the envelope icon is the only way in?

Clicking on someones name on the left hand side under their avatar should show a message option. I will have another look backstage.

Aha! Did you do something? I’m sure I’d have seen that. I should have taken a screenshot yesterday when I tried.

Edit: It now works from the envelope icon too, and that definitely was bust. Good work, cheers.

Yes that "start conversation" box should let you send messages.
Yes I did do stuff as well. Glad its working now.

Hi Andy, I am having the same problem with pms, no option if i click on your name and when I click on start new conversation after clicking the emvelope in the toolbar I get an oops error page.

There isnt for the moment. Images need to be hosted elsewhere. Imgur is free. Upload and copy the link into your post.
Once things have settled down, we can look into bandwidth use and hopefully restore this function.

Once you hosted it somewhere else, click on the frame picture icon, then on the chain icone (by url) and paste your picture’s url.
