I'd have thought I'd have grown out of this by now, but I still do like a good knife. And, here is one that has my eye right now. A Gene Ingram Skinny Semi :) Got a couple of Mr Ingram's things ... kind of wish he worked in carbon steel a little bit. D2 and S30V still as far as I can see. Not quite yet at the point where I write the email

That does look rather fine; thank goodness I am now old enough now to realise that I don't need any more cutlery.:)
Need and want are very different things though :D

I've been very good not buying knives recently, don't ask about razors and shaving soap though :O

Manly, Bulgarian makers of the magnificent Comrade slipjoint, have launched a couple more. A Spudulike rip-off type of backlock thing, the Peak, plus the very handy looking Wasp - a UK-EDC slipjoint model. The Wasp appears in Sandvik and S90V and costs next to fuck all.

Tasty, eh? :)

(EDIT - further research shows that, at least on the Canadian Manly site, the Peak appears as a two hander - not a Spyderco type OHO - shame really, rather fancied that)

the beautiful south. but NOT on the island
I quite like sandvik steels but.........If I'm going to carry a big slippy like that , I'll stick to my Enzo as, for a large slippy its 'up there'. My personal preference is for more traditional types and especially suuaybacks.

I’m not too excited by that London but remembering I had a gene Ingram and sold it on annoys me still. The cleanest knives. Just so simple but it works so well.

That’s rather nice. And I still have that G Ingram duo that I bought all those years ago on BB

I was talking to him about another one when he announced his accident and, later, retirement. Really pleasant old cove that one. Trevorish, in the good way. I bought a Todd Kroenlein in the end, which is very great ... but not an Ingram.

Is Gene still making knives? I know he had an accident a couple of years ago and his website seems to be down now.
