While I mind; shaving soap. Scottish Fine Soaps have a Factory shop that I visit a couple of times a year. They sell bags of shaving soaps, shaped to fit inside bowls, and my cousin, etc., rate it highly.

Like this stuff, but at a fraction of the price.....and I'm happy to shop and pass stuff along if required :)

Thanks Mary, their stuff is very good.
I’d appreciate a heads up next time you are going?

Need and want are very different things though :D

I've been very good not buying knives recently, don't ask about razors and shaving soap though :O

I was only thinking the other day that we needed to revive the shaving thread.
I've taken a liking to TOOBS Almond shaving soap just now.

I might be interested too Mary if it's not added hassle for you. :)

No, I quite like shopping for this kind of thing. So long as I balance the weight so that the postage fits tidily into one of the weight categories for MyHermes or the like, we're sorted :)

It's a funny wee shop; it's full of hotel/caterer type stuff as well as the high end S.F.S. gifts and the extras they've made for five star hotels, etc.,
If there's nothing in particular that you're after, but want stocking stuffer things for the ladies in your lives, give me a budget figure and I'll happily stock up on everything from soaps and shower gels to hand washes and assorted creams. It's lovely stuff :) their men's range seems to be well received too going by the menfolks I buy for. They do some really nice things for children too.
If you want 'gift sets' then pick a range (look online) give me a budget and I'll see what's in the shop on the day. Expensive gifts of nice stuff at bargain prices.
My skin breaks out with some of the mainstream chemical rich soups sold as handcreams, washes, etc., but this stuff seems to be fine. We go through fifty bars of soap a year, and I just wouldn't buy from anywhere else now. If they have the gardeners soaps on sale Kev, you will not be disappointed :D Huge great things, and they clean and don't leave your hands feeling like you've scoured them with Ajax.

Thanks Mary. Shaving soap if they have some and I might give the gardener's soap a go if you find some. Whatever happened to Lifeboy and good old carbolic? The number of times I was threatened with having my mouth washed out with carbolic soap as a kid doesn't bear thinking about.

I need to turn my attention back to this, having left my nice brush and soap in Vancouver and now need something for Toronto life.

As replacement, I bought a Wilkinson Sword bristle brush a few weeks ago, which is at least as effective at lathering as a fistful of bracken. Also a stick of Italian shaving soap which smells like a dog's blanket.

Happy to purchase and post from Scotland, but heaven alone knows what the postage would cost you.

Perfect description of the Wilkie brush! I quickly relegated mine to cleaning dust off my keyboard and the like.

Exactly what mine is used for.

I’m liking the look of those soaps MaC, not so much the shave stuff as I usually use my stubble as cheese grater when using solid soaps and lather on my face rather than a bowl, but Thistle and Black Pepper sounds interesting. I prefer a soap in the shower, the Lynx type highly perfumed gels are fine for a bit, but I’ll start itching if I use them everyday. And they’re a pain to rinse off.

:) It is the problem. I picked up a few very excellent mid-90s DPM jackets recently. The postage is miles more than the cost of the thing itself. One has to do the percentages and want-quotient calculations

You cant do this to us avid consumers. Links, we need links.

The silly thing is how cheap they are and I’ve not been stung for chargers yet even when iv ordered more than one at once.

I have a number of 24 & 26 tuxedo knots plus a few others. They are truly superb brushes.

I suspect many of the OEM brushes, Razorock etc are made by them?

Razorock also have some excellent handles. I’ll get on in the post for you to try Kev (just might take a few days)

Even had a potty mouth back then Kev?
I'm currently using 'green tablet soap given out by the red cross in disaster relief packs. as basic as it gets. ........and free. I presume some peeps gave them a donation for it.

Imagine my surprise at receiving a bright orange butt plug in the post this afternoon.

Rather than introducing a friend to the fun of pony play, I think I'll try shaving with it.

Cheers @bagman (y):)
