Thought I'd add a post in the shooting section, since it's a bit empty!

Video clip is yours truly shooting a few stages of a PRS comp. Steel targets from 400-600m (turn the volume up and you'll hear the delayed "dink" sound of the impact.

The first stage shown required you to complete a puzzle that's to my left, out of shot, every two rounds. That's edited out as you can't see what I'm doing so it just looks like I'm fiddling with the grass or something.

So is the big bag just a cushion to get you into a more stable position?

Also those birdwatchers must be raging that you keep firing your rifle :D

Yes, they're called "cuddle pillows", which isn't exactly macho! Some stages limit what you can use, others allow bags, rucksack, tripod etc.

Cuddle pillow also works well as a comfy cushion when having a rest!

Our Ruffed Grouse are just a bit bigger than the Red Grouse that I've seen on your Yorkshire moors. Delicious birds.
Was in N Yorks on opening day but some how, my D2 wedding took precedence. Figured that I'd better show up.

I'm out for a lovely sunny day in the forest* with my Remington 12 pump. The Thimbleberry shrubs are chest deep.
A Ruffie jumped up 10' and I swung up to take it. I did a shitty job with my right hand on the wrist of the stock, my thumb knuckle
out about an inch.
The recoil drove my knuckle back into my cheek bone, under my right eye. Foly Huck, but did that ever hurt! Nearly fell down.

* All our land, unless it's fenced and posted, is "crown land" and you can hunt where ever you please for the season.
