Just back from a 9 mile run. That takes me to 23 miles for the week so far. No pains on my foot and my fitness is coming back. Considering that is only a month since my foot op I'm happy with that.

That must be such a reassuring relief :D I'm pleased to hear it, and hope that the healing continues well :) Spring is definitely here, and with the weather improving, it's going to be a great time to get out and about.

Well yesterday really, but got stuck twice in traffic and not by the usual cyclists but by posers doing “Way of the Cross” walks in fancy dress with wooden crosses.
Apart from being annoyed at the delay, I felt nauseated and embarrassed by them.

Got in and found I am not alone and this cartoon sums up my feelings perfectly.

Nice weather, so spent the day on the allotment. The site is well sheltered from the prevailing southwesterlies by woods, but wide open to winds from the south and east.
Some newbies spent last weekend putting up a large and expensive new poly tunnel.
Then we had the gales and here it is today, Their expensive kite now lies five allotments away from it's launch site.

Nice, it's cathartic, isn't it?

I was thinking of going today but didn't really have enough stuff to justify it, which was for the best as it was closed due to flooding? No idea how, it's not even been that wet here, maybe a pipe burst?
I tried to go to our local this afternoon along with half the population. Suffice to say i still have a boot full to try again tomorrow.

Boot sale this morning, unusually selling rather than buying, well, I did look round for a bit :D but no purchases.
A frosty start but turned out nice as forecast, a load of stuff gone and some folding stuff to take home!

I am at the blue dot on the lower left hand corner; top right is the river, about 20-30 miles long but at this point it’s mostly sea water (hence why it’s so wide. The quadrangular patches north of me are claires, oyster parcs where the shells are left to feast on the type of blue algae that grow there.

Up at 3.30am to make sure eldest got his flight. Of course, I didn't manage to get back to sleep. Pottered in the house for a bit then hiked up the river for a few hours. Came back to clean the place up, then went to restock the pantry. Currently early evening, slurping up an OK cabernet and watching Joyce DiDonato sing La Donna del Lago. Got the heating on full blast. Feeling quite bourgeois. Might put the washing on. Might not :)

I've just been to the tip, an incredibly mixed load to the point I wrote down the order of the skips and filled the car in reverse, normally you can just wing it.

On the way home I almost broadsided a doddery old fool in a Citroen C1, the classic fail to give way to the right at a roundabout and then open realising your mistake, coming to a stop rather than clear the junction. The brakes on the Landy are surprisingly good when you bury the pedal.
