Up front, I don't like fluttery things. Not fond of butterflies or moths at all, not keen on birds too near me either.

However, I grow Evening Primroses....well truthfully they happily self seed themselves through the garden and I just weed them out if they're in an awkward place....and they are beautiful. Big bright sunny yellow flowers, and the plants grow tall so they're back of the border kind of of thing.
I opened the door to go and put something in the car tonight and there are three EP's growing in front of the front window. They are alive with huge moths tonight. Moths with wingspans as big as peacocks or red admirals. No idea what they are, not going to look to close, but there are dozens of them.
Kind of heartening, that there's still variety in the world around us :)

A couple of you have mentioned before that you'd like to do moth traps and see what you find.
Plant evening primroses; they grow easily from seed, they're non toxic, break down fine in the compost heap when you've had enough of them, but they'll happily come back year after year. Easy enough to weed out too......and the moths seem to love them.
