Charity Christmas cards.....why are the cards I bought in M&S in Glasgow supporting a cancer charity that only operates in Ireland ?

I'm sure it's a very good charity with fine aims, but buy in Britain, support local charities ??

Just rather odd.

I am finding my get up an go harder to motivate, the seasonal drowsiness is starting to bite. I'm trying to keep moving, tick things off my list, and christmas cards are being done just now.

It's scary going through the address book and how many people are away.

I don't think I like this getting older lark much.

It's not for the faint-hearted, this ageing stuff is it?
I'm heartened by my fellow Brummie mate down the allotment who's 80 and today apologised for not being able to get me into a massively oversubscribed Beaujolais day breakfast this last week. Told him it really didn't matter and thanks but he reassured me he'd not only had a bottle on his ticket but did in a second one for me and even ate half a second fry up before his daughter piled him into her car and poured him out at home to sleep it off. There is hope! :D

My 94 year dad isn't contemplating the alternative yet.

When I were a lad, there was a lovely old dear who lived in a 3rd floor flat. She was 93 and still carried her buckets of coal up the 3 flights of stairs every day. She used to say that she was ready to go at any time because all the folks she knew had died and she was fed up. No telly in those days.
