I've made potage, and we have g/f crackers (home made) good bread, for Himself, and then chocolate muffins for pudding.

It's a lazy sort of dinner, but I'm not up for doing much cooking this evening.

Veggie chilli here. Home grown tomatoes, onions, chillies, courgette and garlic. Had to buy the Quorn though to kid Herself it’s got meat in it.
Chucked in a couple of large portions of home made green tomato chutney for good measure as well.

We had lamb cutlets from Tesco, nae that tasty.

G

Funny you should say that, because my neighbour said that she had lamb from Tesco and it was kind of blah.
Not a patch on the Sainsbury's stuff she'd had the week before.

I've got venison lorne sausages thawing out for Himself.
I'm kind of glad that it's no longer the done thing to poach lamb......

Tonight was the rest of Monday's lasagnas but yesterday was a "shepherd soup", a soup we make whenever we have had a leg of lamb: leeks, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, turnips (young if possible, all cut in chunks, with the leg of lamb bone and leftover meat around the bone. Add some stock cubes to make for a richer broth. Cook for a long time (or use a pressure cooker). You can add some grated emmental on top of the bowls as you serve.

@Saint-Just bugger all to do with dinner tonight, but I sourced some seeds for "Golden Ball" turnips. They have done really well and I have to report that they really are delicious and I never, ever thought I'd say that about a bloody turnip!
I am so glad you managed to grow some. I agree, one would never believe turnips can be that good.

Found an affordable sockeye salmon in the supermarket the other day ('tis the season for supermarkets to sell cheap salmon in poly bags right off the boat). I put it in the freezer.

I will likely just grill a bit of it tonight to celebrate the arrival of something nice. Avec, crushed baby pots w/lemon, salt and olive oil in them, plus asparagus ... maybe a light cream sauce of some kind.

We normally get packs of lamb chops from Costco and they are decent enough. Really need to go back there and restock the freezer.

I think we are having chicken Kiev tonight (unless it is called something else now).

I'm in a food coma thanks to Tom kerridge...

On one of my dog walks there's a farm shop with a butcher's. If I'm feeling flush I treat myself to some quality meat. It's a world away from supermarket meat. Even the fat is delicious

I love beef rib... The dog loves the leftovers

I had a massive shrimp and szechuan sauce stir fry for lunch. So, just a bagel with almond butter for dinner and a tin of english-style beer (which was actually pretty good)

Watched Loki ep. 3 - which was dull.
