I watched Onoda,10,000 Nights In the Jungle on the Chanel 4 app the other night.
I was 9 at the time this 2nd world war Japanese solider eventually gave himself up. Ive always found it a fascinating story so it was nice coming across the film by chance.
IMHO pretty well done.
Still available on channel 4?

I've watched all inside no 9. Don't know how they manage to think them up. A bit like a modern tales of the unexpected.

We're watching the episode centered about paying a bill in a restaurant. Whole thing is just dialogue, single set. Not incredible but I appreciate the format, reminds me of the episode of Bottom where they're stuck on the Ferris wheel.

Been watching The Reckoning, in which Steve Coogan plays Jimmy Savile. Good so far.

As some cad on Twitter said: it cuts between him being interviewed for a biography and his antics in the past, so it's now / then / now / then.

Not sure if I mentioned Shrinking, I think I did. AppleTV

Kleo, once it found its feet. Initially played like a poor Killing Eve but it developed into quite good fun. Netflix

Currently watching The Fall of the House of Usher, really good. Netflix.

Anyone tried GenV on Prime yet? It’s from the makers of The Boys, ought to be good.

Just browsing around on prime t’other day I found ‘Northern Exposure’, anyone remember it? Anyway, I bought series one, about twenty odd episodes, for the princely sum of £11.99 and me and EID are slowly working our way through it again. Excellent series!

Just a few minutes into Ep1 of GenV (The Boys production spin off) and immediately reminded just how graphically gory and violent The Boys was. By the end of the episode I was a bit “bloody hell!”.

Just starting Ep2.

We are up to date with it. Very much along the same lines as the originals on terms of graphic sex and violence but not sure the storyline is quite there.

I baled halfway through episode 1.
No stamina, I got half way through ep 3 before baling. It can’t make its mind up whether to be a sort of woke teen romp, or a sweary, shocking gore and sex fest. And, like Renton said, the storyline is underwhelming. Shame, The Boys was brilliant.

Apparently a couple of months ago I recommended The Boyes to the 24 year old Swedish blonde who has come over from our Sweden warehouse for 2 years.

On Monday she timidly told me from the other side of one of the conveyor belts that she'd been watching it followed by the giggly statement "he shrank down and went inside the other guys penis, sneezed and blew his penis up!"

She has since started on Gen V

It does tie back in towards the end and might have an impact on series 3.

I’ll persevere then. You mean Boys S4 I think?

Just finished episode 1 tonight while doing a forum catch up when I saw your post.
I’m only almost at the end of ep2, and hoping it holds good throughout. At the moment it’s very enjoyable, beautifully animated and voice acted.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Gen V last night, I'm enjoying it... finding it pretty similar in tone to The Boys.

Mostly filmed on the University of Toronto Mississauga campus (which I've walked around a couple of times, nice campus). The small stadium where they have the fight in episode 1 is a tennis stadium in Toronto.

They film The Boys on the campus too.

I enjoyed the first couple of seasons when it was first broadcast but lost track of it and havent been able to pick it back up.

New series has just been released based on a different book ny the same author but twisting it to use the same main characters later on.

They do seem to, it’s getting silly. The massive injury sustained to the psychic perv when his bellend exploded didn’t seem to hinder him sprinting away later when spotted conspiring with the Dean? 🤔

And Tek Knight sticking his in everything. I won’t be bothering with the rest of it.
