Today is making out to be the same as yesterday; clear skies and mild. It got up to 8 degrees yesterday; went for a run in shorts and a t shirt for the first time this year.

Himself went up the loft for something, and while he was up there he checked on the tubs of vermiculite that I stash begonias and lilies in....they're all sprouting, but it's at least a month too early, and pretty sure it was more than that last year. So, though we're complaining about being chilly, it can't have been that cold over all.
Every fruit bush is blooming, from quince to grosets, from apples to blackcurrants.

If we get a hard frost now.......

Pissing it down in Plymouth, I've spent the last five hours going round cabinets in the rain trying to use a laptop, sheets of paper, and disconnecting wires while trying not to get the traffic controller wet. We're about 75% of the way there, and tomorrow it should be dry enough to do the bits we couldn't do today.

If it can make you feel any better the region we are in has suffered significant floods those last few months and the grounds are quite waterlogged. To the point where I am having 2 tonnes of gravel tomorrow to firm up the access path through the woods.
But it’s warm (15°C), dry from tomorrow onwards and could be 25°C plus by Saturday. We’ll see…

Purple clouds scudding across a sunlit morning sky. Looks rather Wordsworthian in a colonial sort of way. I doubt it will actually rain. It never does. But it does look like it might.
