I didn't know that such a thing was available :)

When my hands are sore, I can't wear my wedding ring (size K) so Himself bought me a new one (size L) but when the arthritis hits hard and my fingers swell up....just now I'm wearing my Granny's which is a L+ when it's bad I ended up wearing my MIL's (size N)

Are the silicon rings stretchy at all ? easy to get on and off even if fingers swell ?

M
A little bit of stretch. These are 8-9mm wide but a narrower one would possible stretch morethough maybe snap easier. At less than a pound each might be worth trying. Some slightly nicer ones for between 5 and 10 pound each.

Today a piece of magnesium rod. Also a long strip of magnesium ribbon to go with the red iron oxide that I already have. One more ingredient on order once I have the shipping charge sorted. Whe mixed together in small amounts it should make lighting fires easier.

You would have to be patient and use simple words if you wanted me to understand what it is and what it does

I went to look when he posted, and I'm none the wiser :shame:

I've always wanted one, but the price puts me off, how much did you pay?

Come on, what is it FOR?

The magnet is a boy's toy for nothing in particular. Just over £50 from AliExpress. Took a few weeks to arrive but it works. In my dimness I thought that they must have been some electrics in it to make it work, but apparently not. It's not even an offset that makes it work. It uses one magnet to supress the other.

LoRa is a long range radio system. In fact it is quite short range but they act as nodes in a mesh and work in a way not too disimilar to how a mobile phone works. In this case your message is addressed to someone and goes out on the network to find them. This is a very simplistic explanation. Why is it worth having? In the case of a mobile network failure you can still use your phone and its Bluetooth function to connect to your LoRa device to send messages to other LoRa users.

Is it any good though? I have been thinking about a USB one, but for the amount of times that I am likely to use it.... but that didn't stop me buying a switchable magnet and GOK how much other "junk".

Avoid the usb ones, they are almost all fakes with wildly over stated capabilities. Check YouTube for videos of tests on them.

My Scarpa’s are starting to wear a bit, still useable but the support now is probably only a notch or two up from a pair slippers!

Dragontail GTX Tech. The first time ever I’ve purchased footware without trying on beforehand, so a little trepidation, especially with a badly arthritic ankle.
Seems the bit of research I did has paid off. Had them on for a few hours now, a bit of uuming and ahhing to begin with, and that unfamiliar feeling with something different. An hour or so’s dog walk and then into town for about an hour and I’ve still got them on, still a bit of the weird new feeling but I’m pleased.
Very supportive, more of a boot feel/fit compared to most others I’ve ever had, and the ankle isn’t screaming too badly :)
