Defending Britain depends on how it is attacked. Despite recent testing failures the dissuasion threat is credible.
Defending against men on the ground isn’t credible and never was in the last century, even less so now the military is professional.
I am not sure we would have the means to stop them getting here. Your country did in 1940 (and thank God it did) but technology has evolved in such a way that it would happen in a fraction of the time it would have then.
But the worst type of attack against which people on both sides are really putting brain power behind are technological. Protecting power distribution, banking systems, transports and traffic in general, information, elections…

I am not sure we stand a chance. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying. Just not with the current shower.

This twin bladed Cinnamon Stag Cattleman from Rough Rider courtesy of Heinnie. Cracking little knife. I say little but it's a reassuringly hefty little handful. :)
Carbon steel blades, nice back springs, both with firm snaps at half and fully open. Nice fit and finish and all for less than thirty quid. :)

The other half asked what the grinding disc was for. I told her that it was for grinding. Grinding what was her next question. So I told her that you might want to flatten a weld after knocking the slag off. So it's like sanding then, she realised. Every day is a school day in my company, not BIG school though.

A little pouch to put my hearing aids in when not in use while out and about. What with hearing aida, spectacles and a growing assortment of medication to keep me alive, I'm going to need a bigger daysack.

My meds from the GP every four weeks are usually in the biggest bag of all. People have called me a hypochondriac, which I tell the GP, and then I ask which I can stop taking. The answer is always the same "you must not stop taking any of them". I am not totally sure that the answer has not got more to do with risk aversion though!
