I've said it for years; first past the post leaves too many disenfranchised.

Proportional representation has it's flaws, but at least every vote counts and gets a representative.

Very true, but unless something "unofficial" like this idea gets going we'll never get PR. If local "primaries" get traction we'll get more diversity of MP and the FFP nationally will not favour the two big parties who might then be forced into PR.

A slim chance but I need a bit of hope in these rubbish times.

Well you say that but we did have a referendum on the matter, and overwhelmingly chose to maintain the status quo.

Yeah that's a fair point, but it's as good as were getting.

Would you like me to post the Bournemouth West statistics again?

42% voted....my that was a 'good' turn out, wasn't it ?
Not.

Our last general election this county had a 68.9% turnout.
That's fairly common.....well here it is. 68.1% was the average for the entire country.

Maybe we need to try that again ?

I am not sure PR would win a vote today anyway. I've never felt like I've had a natural political home so I am partial to idea of PR, but I don't think that is true for the majority.

Last general election 81% of the Scottish MPs returned to Westminster were SNP.....and SNP didn't get 81% of the vote. They actually had 45% of the vote.

Maybe the English need to shout about that a bit, see if it changes minds on PR.

At least they provided a very capable leader to replace Mhairi Black in Westminster.

Russia has already given him asylum.

But he is happier in Catalunya, where they celebrate him every 23rd April by exchanging roses and books, and dancing the Sardana. They also often name their sons Jordi (George).
